Steel Sheet Cladding

Product information
Insulation needs weather protection to protect it from rain and dirt in order for it to retain its insulation properties and function over time. A good and intact weather protection is also key in preventing water from entering the system - and hence preventing CUI. The by far most commonly used product for weather protection of insulation is steel cladding.
Beerenberg offers a range of traditional cladding product such as stainless steel, aluminum or galvanized cladding know collectively as Benarx Sheet Metal Cladding, which meets these demands. Benarx Sheet Metal Cladding is available in a range of different fitting types, material specs, thicknesses and configurations - all the form of standard components.
Benarx Sheet Metal Cladding can be used on all insulation classes, provided that the quality, thickness and configurations used matches those specified in the project’s specification. Benarx Sheet Metal Cladding is not limited by piping operating temperature as its area of application is outside the insulation system.
Beerenberg recommends using stainless steel cladding for offshore applications and coastal areas, since stainless steel carries better corrosion resistance and longer lifetime in salt-exposed environments. Galvanized and aluminum cladding are cheaper alternatives, more suitable for continental a climate.
Details on swaging, folds and connections are always orientation-sensitive to prevent water-ingress, and details are as a standard aligned with Norsok specification requirements.
· Available in several material specifications (SS316, Aluzinc, Galvanized, perforated/non-perforated)
· Available in several thicknesses depending on project specification
· Prefabricated standard-components for all fitting types and water-shed orientation.
As a traditional insulation product its required that the insulators are already familiar with the installation and fitting of steel cladding components. Benarx Sheet Metal Cladding therefore does not carry an installation manual.
Standard insulator tools are needed to install sheet metal cladding. As a traditional insulation product its required that insulators are already familiar with the tools and accessories needed for installation of steel cladding. Benarx Sheet Metal Cladding therefore does not carry an independent list of tools and accessories needed for installation. If you have never installed cladding before contact benarx-toolbox@beerenberg.com for guidance on appropriate tools for your project.
Depending on the project’s specification: Benarx Steel straps, pop-rivets, sealant, Benarx F Drain Plugs, Benarx WUI Drain Detection Plugs or Benarx Preformed End Cap Gaskets may be needed in order to install Benarx Sheet Metal Cladding. These accessory materials are ordered separately.
· Steel Mill Certificates for traceability of material composition of the steel batch may be sent upon request.
Unit configuration:
Straight pieces of cladding are ordered in whole meters (1qty ordered = 1 piece of 1 meter cladding). Fitting components and special parts are ordered as one unit “ea” per fitting. As an example: One “ea” of bends ordered = one pair of half-bends which comprises the fitting for one bend.
Packing:
For normal transport by land/sea (truck), sheet metal cladding items are packed/shipped on fumigated euro pallets, and to secure stability and protection of the pallet content, either wooden fumigated side-pallet-protectors or heavy duty cardboard boxes are used.
For oversized items not fitting within the foot-mark of a euro pallet, cladding items are stretch-wrapped in black plastic foil, and secured the item with straps to the pallet.
Palleted items are clearly marked with pallet/box content, QC confirmation and order reference details.
For airfreight we follow the customers/forwarders guidelines in each case.
Palleted items prepared for shipping are covered by light plastic rain-repellent wrapping for limited time outside storage. Long term-storage should be under cover and dry.
