Passive fire protection testing and certification
Understanding the certifications of passive fire protection systems for Oil&Gas producing facilities can sometimes be a challenge. First we need to consider why and how passive fire protection is applied. In most cases the passive fire protection (PFP) is used to protect the integrity of steel structures, pipelines including valves and flanges or other process equipment that may contain hydrocarbons, allowing for a controlled shutdown and evacuation of personnel in an event of fire.
